If you are roaming the rough terrain of Hyrule The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom You may have seen the occasional glowing cherry blossom tree. At first I didn’t think much of them. This is a sport largely known for its natural beauty, but it turns out that the trees have a hidden secret. If you visit one, it will show you where all the caves in the vicinity are.

Special cherry blossom trees can be found throughout Hyrule, although there are only a handful of them. The easiest place to reach is northeast of Lookout Landing, just a short walk from Yamyo Shrine. Just look for the beautiful pink petals and you have found it. How to Use Cherry Blossom Trees

All you have to do is go to one of the cherry blossom trees and make offerings on a stone plate in front of it. It sounds like you need to offer a piece of fruit – an apple and a wildberry worked for me, but not a carrot. Just take your stuff and put it in. Once you do, a Satori, who looks like a glowing forest spirit, will appear and mark the caves in the vicinity with a pillar of light, as shown below. We timed how long the effect lasted, and it appears to last a day and night cycle as it lasts about 24 real world minutes. The light icons didn’t disappear when I teleported back and forth from another area, and they still appeared as the cave I’d already explored. The light will fade out as you approach the entrance to the cave, but it will reappear if you move away. This is a great help in visiting and exploring caves.
