To do this, all you have to do is go to one of the cherry blossom trees and place an offering on a stone plate in front of it. It sounds like you need to introduce a piece of fruit – an apple and a wildberry worked for me, but a carrot didn’t. Just grab your item and drop it in. Once you do this, a Satori, who looks like a glowing forest spirit, will appear and mark the caves in the vicinity with a pillar of light, as shown below. All you have to do to find the cave is walk towards the light.
We timed how long the effect lasted, and it appears to last a day and night cycle as it lasts about 24 real world minutes. The light markers didn’t disappear when I teleported back and forth from another area, and they still appeared for a cave I’d already explored. The light fades as you approach the entrance of a cave, but it will reappear if you move away. This is a great help in visiting and tracking caves.
Special cherry blossom trees can be found throughout Hyrule, although there are only a few of them. It’s easiest to reach northeast of Lookout Landing, just a short distance from Yamyo Shrine.
