diablo 4The first season of, Season of the Malignant, is coming to the game on July 20th – exactly a month and a half later D4′launch of Blizzard Entertainment details new seasonal mechanics (along with announcing a new class) diablo immortal) during a lengthy livestream on Thursday.
Season of Malignant takes place after diablo 4 The campaign and serves as a side story in the world of Sanctuary. After players work to push back the forces of evil in the main campaign, a new corrupting curse has begun to make its way into the rest of the world. At the start of the season, players will receive a summons to Kyovshad, the capital of the Fractured Peaks, at Level 1 to meet a new character, Cormund. Cormund wants players to capture Corrupted Hearts and use them to increase their power, so they can further remove the stigma from the land.
Of course, this is manifested in some powerful new equipment for each Diablo class. While playing the game normally in Season 1, there is a chance for players to come across a deadly monster. These monsters are extra tough, but drop a special lethal heart item when they die. Interacting with this heart will cause the enemy to respawn – making it even more difficult to deal with – and summon a slew of additional enemies. If players still manage to achieve victory, the beast will drop a caged heart, which you can use to vastly increase your power over the course of the season.

Caged hearts come with their own legendary-level powers — like the one shown above, which causes critical hits to electrify enemies — and players can socket them into their jewelry items. For the entire season of Malignant, all rings and amulets will drop with a bad socket that will be either red, blue, or yellow. These are related to different colored heart powers. Players can only make identical matches, so they will not be able to put a blue heart in a yellow socket. There is a rare fourth suit of hearts, which players can place in any of the three sockets.
Season 32 of Malignant will come with new powers that are exclusive to the Malignant Heart System. Tim Ismay – Season’s head producer diablo 4 – Said on the livestream that these new powers are “stupidly broken” and will enable many new and interesting creations over the course of Season 1.
If players are looking for a specific Malignant Heart, they can break down existing hearts found in the world for a special crafting currency. Once they’ve collected enough, they can take the currency into a Deadly Tunnel – a new activity space filled with deadly monsters – and spawn a special enemy at the end that is their chosen color. Guaranteed to make a fatal heart drop.
Blizzard developers also revealed that season one of Malignant would come with some new story content (not related to the main storyline). diablo 4), a new boss monster, new legendary powers, and new unique items.
