genshin impact The 3.6 update is going to be released on April 12th and includes a surprising amount of new content. This time around, travelers will find a new event inspired by the Sumeru region, an additional area to explore, a weekly boss fight, and two new playable characters: Baiju and Kaweh. On top of all that, it looks like a new quest that will let players dive deeper into the lore of the land as Paimon and the Traveler meet an ancient race and learn about the origins of dragons.
The trailer for “A Parade of Providence” teased the story a bit. In it, we see the Traveler and Paimon explore a mysterious forest as Paimon talks about the history of dragons and mentions a mysterious “Dragon King”. We also hear about an ancient race that suffered from the Apocalypse, so we can learn more about the origins of the world.
The new area seems to be tied to the history of the land itself. The environment resembles a mixture of bad land and desert. There, you’ll meet a new friend named “Fairy” who lets you fly around. According to a press release, legends say that the new area was “one of the main battlefields during the Khenaria cataclysm five hundred years ago.”
As always, we’ll also get a grab bag of other stuff. Patch 3.6 will bring the “Academia Extravaganza” to the game, an in-game event that will allow players to experience new stories and mini-games that teach people more about Sumeru Academy and its areas of research. On top of that, Nahida and Baihzoo will be getting a story quest and Laila will be getting a hangout quest. If that’s not enough, you can beat the new weekly boss, a grass-snake monster called the “Dragon of Verdure”.
