God of War: Ragnarok updates: God of War Ragnarok is a highly anticipated PlayStation game, attracting huge attention despite the fact that very little information has been released about it.
The sequel, which is not officially called “Ragnarok”, will continue the critically acclaimed God of War reboot’s legacy. It is expected that fans will see more of it soon, with very few places where Sony’s Santa Monica Studio might reveal gameplay.
The second game was announced at the September 2020 PlayStation 5 Showcase. A teaser trailer revealed a new logo and told a story about Ragnarok in Norse mythology. It also revealed a 2021 release window. The trailer did not show any gameplay and gave no clues as to when the full reveal of the game could be expected.
Santa Monica Studio had announced that God of War: Ragnarok was delayed to June 2021 and would launch on PS4 in addition.
This was done to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Santa Monica Studio also said that big things were on the horizon, and fans speculated that they would soon release official gameplay.
God Of War: Ragnarok Gameplay
PlayStation recently held a State of Play event on July 8 that featured gameplay for Bethesda’s Deathloop as well as updates about several third-party and indie titles. Sony also announced that updates would not be provided for first-party titles like Horizon Forbidden West or the God of War sequel, but it said that they will provide updates during the summer.
This announcement suggests that a State of Play event in the latter part of the summer is a likely venue for revealing gameplay. Sony typically uses its exhibits as a way to give fans a deeper look at the exclusive PlayStation games. The most recent event featured around 15 minutes gameplay for Horizon Forbidden Wild.
Sony could give God of War 2 Ragnarok the exact same cosmetics. This would allow the majority of a State of Play or longer PlayStation Showcase event, to be devoted to Kratos and Atreus’ new adventure.
Gameplay could also be revealed at The Game Awards in December. Many studios travel to share information about new titles at large gaming events. Sony Santa Monica used E3 2016 as an opportunity to unveil the first God of War’s gameplay.
The Game Awards trailer could be a good idea. The show’s reputation for showing off could increase viewership and fanbase, and give the studio the time needed to develop the game. Fans will have to wait until God of War: Ragnarok is fully revealed.
